About

Our Purpose:

Oratio exists to deepen prayer and connection through handcrafted rosaries made with care and purpose. By using ethically sourced materials and offering customizable designs, we create meaningful pieces that can be treasured in personal devotion or shared as gifts in moments of faith, love, and tradition.

Our Vision:

Oratio envisions a future where faith, craftsmanship, and compassion come together to serve a greater purpose. As we grow, we aim to extend our impact beyond handcrafted, ethically sourced rosaries by supporting individuals and communities affected by hardship—particularly those facing addiction and recovery.

Inspired by a belief in human dignity and second chances, our long-term vision is to contribute to outreach efforts through the donation of rosaries and essential resources, offering both spiritual encouragement and tangible support. Through intentional design, ethical responsibility, and service, Oratio seeks to become more than a brand—becoming a source of hope, healing, and renewal.

Prayer for the Addicted

God of mercy, we bless You in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who ministered to all who came to Him . Give Your strength to (name of the person) one of Your Children. Enfold him/her in Your love and restore him/her to the freedom of God’s children.

Lord, look with compassion on all those who have lost their health and freedom. Restore to them the assurance of Your unfailing mercy, strengthen them in the work of recovery, and help them to resist all temptation.

To all those who care for them, grant patience and understanding and a love that perseveres. We asks this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Founding

Founded on December 31, 2025, Oratio takes its name from the Latin word for speech and discourse, reflecting a focus on clarity and intentional communication.

Oratio was created in response to a growing disconnect between the meaning of devotional items and how they are often produced. In a market filled with mass-produced goods, we set out to create something different—handcrafted rosaries made with ethically sourced materials, designed with care and purpose.

What began as a simple idea has grown into a mission to create meaningful pieces that support prayer, reflection, and thoughtful gift-giving. Every rosary is made not just to be used, but to be valued—whether in personal devotion or shared during life’s most important moments.

My name is Lyam Shook, and I am a 2026 graduate of Muhlenberg College, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. Based in the Lehigh Valley, I will be continuing my education at Villanova University, pursuing a Master of Science in Church Management.

I started Oratio with a simple goal: to create handcrafted rosaries made with ethically sourced materials—offering a meaningful alternative to mass-produced devotional items. Each piece is designed with intention, quality, and faith at the forefront.

As Oratio grows, I hope to expand its impact beyond craftsmanship. My long-term vision is to give back to those in need, particularly individuals struggling with addiction in nearby communities such as Kensington, Philadelphia. Through the donation of rosaries and essential resources, I aim to support both spiritual and tangible needs.

At its core, Oratio is about creating something meaningful—rooted in faith, built with purpose, and designed to make a difference over time.
